Leather Furniture Cleaning
Leather Furniture Cleaning
Leather wears visibly over time. Oils, dust, dirt and dyes damage the finish. Our certified leather specialists clean build-up from the surface, condition the leather to restore moisture, and apply a protective finish to help it last longer.
Four types of leather damage
Type 1
Oils and grease
Body oils and grease from skin build up on headrests and armrests, breaking down the leather finish over time.
Type 2
Atmospheric soils
Dust, pollen and airborne pollutants settle into the leather grain and dull the surface between cleans.
Type 3
Common soils
Food crumbs, drink spills and tracked-in dirt grind into the surface and stain lighter leathers quickly.
Type 4
Dyes and inks
Newspaper print, denim dye and ink from pens transfer onto leather and become permanent if not treated promptly.
Our 3-step leather care process
01
Clean
Remove build-up and surface dirt using pH-balanced leather-safe solutions.
02
Condition
Replenish the natural moisture that keeps leather soft, supple and crack-free over years of use.
03
Protect
Apply a protective finish to guard against future staining, fading and everyday wear and tear.
Every leather technician completes specialised training in leather identification, chemistry and restoration. Your furniture is in expert hands from the moment we arrive.
What to expect on the day
A standard leather clean usually takes 45 to 90 minutes per piece, depending on size, leather type and how much build-up is present. You can stay home or, for repeat customers, arrange contactless access on the day.
Before we arrive
Move small items off the furniture and out of the immediate area. We will move cushions and panels as part of the service — there is no need to lift anything heavy yourself.
During the clean
The technician inspects each piece, identifies the leather type, then cleans, conditions and protects in sequence. The room stays usable throughout — the products we use are low-odour and safe around children and pets.
After the clean
Leather is ready to sit on within an hour. We recommend keeping pets off the furniture for the first 30 minutes while the protective coat sets, and avoiding heavy use for the first 24 hours where possible.
How often to repeat
For most homes, leather benefits from a professional clean and condition every 12 months. Heavily used pieces — daily-use sofas in particular — can be cleaned every 6 months without risk to the leather.
Frequently asked about leather cleaning
Can you clean any leather type?
Most leathers respond well to our process — aniline, semi-aniline, pigmented, nubuck and suede are all covered. The technician will identify your leather on arrival and adjust the treatment accordingly.
Will the process remove dye transfer from jeans?
In most cases, yes — the sooner we see it, the better. Older dye transfer that has set into the finish may only be partially removable. We will give you an honest assessment before starting any work.
Can cracked or peeling leather be fixed?
Cleaning and conditioning will not reverse physical damage. It will, however, slow further deterioration and improve the look and feel. We will always tell you honestly what is and is not achievable before quoting.
How much does it cost?
Pricing depends on the number of pieces, leather type and condition. We provide a free, no-obligation quote over the phone — just call +61 488 839 024 and have a quick description ready.
